THE GREEN SCREEN ‐ Meteorologists don't make the weather, they just report it.
Complaining to a meteorologist's face about the weather they report is like complaining to a U.S. history professor that teaches Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address in 1863. They're both just data points that no one can change.
Additionally, jokes used as thinly veiled complaints about the weather are a dime a dozen. Trust me when I say meteorologists have heard them all, and they only fake chuckle to get you to...move along a little faster.
I didn't speak to any meteorologists to confirm the above claim, I just had to watch this "weather report" from meteorologist Garry Frank in Michigan. Now I more fully understand what we are doing to our nation's local weather experts with our jibes and jokes.
On live TV, Frank decides that enough is enough when it comes to weather complaints, and he rants his way through his report. Let's just say exasperated gestures and heavy sarcasm were certainly Frank's co-stars this day.
He spits out phrases such as "What do you want me to do, lie to you?" and "I don't know if this is good enough for you guys," as temperatures appear on his green screen. And, of course, the whole thing is hilarious.
